Payment

  • A deposit fee of $100 is required to secure your booking.

  • To respect the time and preparation that goes into each portrait session, deposits are non-refundable if a cancellation is made within 24 hours of your appointment.

  • This policy helps us hold your reserved time and ensures we can continue offering a quality experience for all clients.

  • The remaining balance will be charged one day before your session, unless a payment plan has been arranged.”

  • We accept cash, online transfer, or payments via our website.

Cultural Respect

  • Kākahu (Māori) and styling are provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own cultural kākahu, taonga, or adornments.

  • Kirituhi (moko stamps) are optional. Our designs are unique to Kākahu Creative and carry no whakapapa or hidden meaning and are purely for creative flair.

Your Portraits

  • After your session, you can pick your favourite images, or we’ll select the best ones for you.

  • Portraits are thoughtfully edited in our signature style. Minor edits can be made if requested; major changes or alternate versions may be arranged for an extra cost.

Delivery

  • Allow 2-3 weeks for your portraits to be processed.  An email confirmation will be sent when your collections are ready.  

Refunds and Returns

  • Every print and product we create is crafted with care, and we want you to be delighted with your purchase. Because each piece is made to order, we’re unable to offer refunds or returns if you simply change your mind.

  • If your order arrives damaged, faulty, or not quite as you expected, please get in touch with us within 7 days of receiving it. We’ll do our very best to put things right—whether that means a replacement, repair, or another solution that leaves you happy.

How to request a return or replacement:

  1. Send us a message on our 'Contact Us' page within 7 days of delivery.

  2. Include your name, and date of sitting with a brief description of the issue.
  3. Where possible, please provide clear photos of the product and packaging so we can assess what went wrong.

  4. Once we’ve reviewed your request, we’ll guide you through the next steps and keep things as simple as possible.

Copyright & Usage

  • Whānau photographed can use their portraits for personal purposes like printing, sharing, or gifting.

  • We may use images for marketing, display, or publication, but we’ll always ask your consent first.
